GUIDING PRINCIPLES
2016-2017
 
1. STUDENT ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Orange-Ulster BOCES will remain fully committed to New York State’s initiative to ensure there is an effective teacher in every classroom and an effective leader in every school.  This commitment is with full recognition that the academic achievement of all students remains among its highest priorities.

Steps will be taken to:

  • Maximize, every student’s engagement in the learning process; 
  • Provide effective professional development opportunities for faculty and staff; and
  • Analyze student performance on local BOCES and state measures to guide our instructional practices.
     
2. STRATEGIC PLAN FOR ORANGE-ULSTER BOCES
Assess the progress of the Five-Year Strategic Plan for Orange-Ulster BOCES that addresses recommendations articulated in:
  • The BOCES-Wide School Safety Plan;
  • Technology Plan; and
  • Program Development Plan.
     
3. COMMUNICATION
Build Orange-Ulster BOCES’ internal and external capacity to market communication tools as a means to maintain a cutting-edge approach in promoting programs and services that include:
  • Website development;
  • Public Relations; 
  • Effective Sharing of Information; and
  • Effective Use of Social Media.
